False. Drinking can be a trigger for rosacea, but phymatous rosacea, which causes the bulbous nose condition known as rhinophyma, is believed to be hereditary. True or False? Allergic reactions are the #1 type of reaction caused by skin care products.
False. The #1 type of reaction to skin care products are irritant reactions such as over exfoliating and the abuse of chemical stripping products. Over exfoliation damages the barrier function of the skin, causing inflammation and dehydration and can overstimulate the skin. Using harsh cleansers that are wrong for your skin type can also cause irritation. True allergic reactions only occur in people who have a strong immune reaction to the product.

True or False? Skin dryness and dehydration is a primary cause of wrinkles.
False. Skin dryness & dehydration certainly make wrinkles look worse, but their primary causes are cumulative sun exposure and facial expressions made in every day life. Using an appropriate daily moisturizer and sunscreen on days of exposure will help ward off those wrinkles. Drinking your 8-9 glasses of water a day will help the ones you already have look better.

True or False? You should avoid products containing alcohol, because it dries skin.
False.Certain forms of alcohol such as isopropyl, ethyl & SD alcohols are volatile and should be avoided if you have dry or sensitive skin. Oily and combination skin types, however, may benefit from small amounts of volatile alcohol to disperse excess oil on the skin's surface. Other forms of alcohol, such as cetyl, are actually moisturizing. Always consult your skin care practitioner to determine which skin care products are best for your skin.
